Executive Committee Grand Alpha - Doug Opicka, IIT '97 Brother Opicka graduated with high honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1997 with a B.A. in Political Science (minor in Accounting) and later earned a M.S. in Public Administration. He was elected Grand Sigma in 2002, has served as a Director of Alpha Epsilon of Phi Kappa Sigma Educational Society since 1999 (currently as President) and also Chairs the Carroll K. Simons Scholarship Committee. As an undergraduate, Doug held many leadership positions including Alpha of his Chapter (along with many other positions), President of the Greek Council, Chairman of the Student Activities Fund, Vice Chair of the Student Body and he was also a Resident Advisor. He served as Chapter Advisor of Alpha Epsilon from 1997-2000, Assistant Grand Delta and Grand Delta for the Midwest before being elected to his current position. Doug has visited 40+ Chapters since his election as Grand Sigma, has participated in 7 Men of Honor Programs and four times represented the Fraternity at the annual NIC Conference including the Fraternal Caucus Hill Visits. Starting with the 88th Grand Chapter, Doug has participated in the Ritual Exemplification (Secrets & Symbols), first by helping Carroll Simons and subsequently by perpetuating Brother Simons' presentation. During his 3 terms on the Executive Committee, Doug has served on the Insurance, Grand Chapter, website, MCS Revision and Alumni Relations Committees in addition to serving as Chairman for both the 92nd and 93rd Grand Chapter Planning Committees. Doug has worked as the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission at IIT, the Manager of Development and Implementation for Bswift, LLC, Project Manager/Technical Benefits Consultant for CCA Strategies and currently as aManager for BearingPoint in their State & Local Government and Education consulting practice specializing in pension fund administration. Doug grew up outside of Green Bay and owns stock in the Green Bay Packers and coached 7th and 8th grade baseball during the summer for 6 years. During the Summer of 2007, Doug moved from Chicago, Illinoisto Lexington, Kentucky to participate in a 3 year project for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Doug also has a tendency to frequent karaoke bars and sample fine cigars. Grand Beta - Michael Palladino, Georgia Tech '04 Brother Palladino graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in August 2004 with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. As an undergraduate, Mike was involved in nearly all aspects of his Chapter's operations, as well as the Interfraternity Council Educational Programming and Judicial Board committees. As Educational Programming chairman, the Peer Education program that Mike developed for the Interfraternity Council is now the defacto standard for educating new members on the prevention of hazing and alcohol abuse on the Georgia Tech campus. Before his graduation, Mike was a summer staff intern at the International Headquarters in 2003, working as a travelling recruitment consultant. As an alum, Mike has served as both an Assistant and Lead Facilitator for the Phi Kappa Sigma Men of Honor program, and has served as both the Assistant Director and Director of Chapter Expansion for our Expansion Committee. Currently, Mike is a Team Leader for Internap Network Services in the Network Operations Center, where he recently completed his first networking certification and has begun work on his second certification. He currently resides in Marietta, Georgia, where he pursues his passions of jet skiing and drumming in his free time. Grand Pi - Kevin Olsavsky,Penn State '86 Brother Olsavsky grew up in Hershey, Pennsylvania and graduated from Pennsylvania State University cum laude in 1986 with a B.A.E. in Architectural Engineering.He is a registered professional engineer and a LEED accredited design professional.He serves as an associate with the firm of Kling Architects and Engineers in Philadelphia where he directs the design of projects in the high technology and government facilities sectors.As an undergraduate in Psi Chapter at Penn State he held several offices including Pi and Upsilon, and has remained active with the alumni housing corporation.In 1996 he was appointed advisor of the Alpha Chapter at the University of Pennsylvania as it was re-colonized and also serves on the board of its housing corporation.He teaches a course in architectural lighting design at Drexel University.Brother Olsavsky lives with his wife, Sandy (Alpha Sigma Alpha, Penn State '84) and their children Ryan and Erin in Havertown, Pennsylvania.He is an avid long-distance cyclist and is also active in several civic and community groups. Grand Tau - James L. Fulmer, Alabama '65 Brother Fulmer graduated from the University of Alabama in 1964 with a B.S. in Business. Jim was appointed South Atlantic Grand Delta in 2000 and was elected Grand Tau in 2002. He is also a member of the Phi Kappa Sigma Foundation Board. He was advisor to Gamma Lambda Chapter at UNC-Charlotte for over twenty years. Jim was named Phi Kappa Sigma Outstanding Advisor at the 1995 Grand Chapter and was named Outstanding Fraternity Advisor at UNC-Charlotte three times, once being named Outstanding Advisor of all groups over twenty members at UNC-Charlotte. Jim lives in Charlotte, NC and works as an Independent Loan Broker and Mortgage Broker for his company, Capstone Financial Services. He and his wife, Nancy, have two adult sons, Carl (a Kappa Sigma) and Scott. Other members of their family include a Shi Tzu, Katie Scarlett, and a cat, Thai. Nancy is very involved with Alumnae Panhellenic and her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha, having served as a Chapter Advisor and Province President (similar to our Grand Delta). Jim stays involved with his alma mater, currently serving as President of the Charlotte Alumni Chapter, and is a fan of all University of Alabama sports. He also is a member of the Fraternity Advisors Board at the University of Alabama which is made up of alumni and chapter presidents of all IFC groups on campus in an effort to guide the fraternities; Jim was asked to take this position by the Dean of Greek Affairs on campus. Grand Sigma - Curt Klinkner, Wisconsin '95 Brother Klinkner graduated from the University of Wisconsin in May 1995 with a B.S. in History and Secondary Education. As an undergraduate, Curt held multiple offices including: Alpha, Pi, Iota and Upsilon; won two PKS Foundation scholarships and was named runner-up to the Neil Hosper’s Outstanding Undergraduate award at the 1995 Grand Chapter in Seattle, Washington. Curt worked at the International Headquarters as an Educational Consultant for the 1995-1996 academic year, then returned to Wisconsin and served as Alpha Theta’s Chapter Advisor from 1996 to 1998. Curt was appointed to the Midwest Grand Delta position in 2004 and served in that role for three years, during which he was a lead facilitator for the Phi Kappa Sigma Men of Honor program and organized two regional leadership conferences. In 2009, He was a charter member of the Badger Skulls Alumni Association (Alpha Theta’s official alumni chapter) and is currently that chapter’s president. Curt is a Leadership Learning Specialist with American Family Insurance. He and his wife, Gwen, live with their twin boys, Greg and Grant, in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Curt enjoys wine, woodworking, fishing and golfing. Grand Theta - Ted Kramer, Purdue '84 Brother Kramer graduated from Purdue University in 1984 with a B.S in Operations Research. Ted then earned his commission in the United States Navy and was sent to flight school where he received his wings in 1985. He subsequently flew S-3B Viking torpedo bombers. He made deployments to the Mediterranean Sea in 1987, 1993, and 1997. During OPERATION DESERT STORM, Ted served with the Joint Chiefs of Staff in their Operations Division where he monitored the progress of our forces in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. During OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, Ted found himself once again working on with the Joint Chiefs of Staff where he worked South America issues. After a twenty years, he retired from the Navy and joined Booz Allen Hamilton, a consulting firm. He has worked on issues with various government agencies including the Department of Defense and Department of Energy. Ted has been the advisor to the Gamma Xi Chapter at George Mason University since 2007 and was subsequently named as the Grand Delta for the South Atlantic Region.
