Foundation Scholarship Impact and Thank You Letters

Daniel J. Murray, Gamma Gamma (Carthage) 2010

I can honestly say that joining Phi Kappa Sigma has been one of the best decisions I have made in my lifetime.  I have developed close bonds with my Brothers that are truly more than skin deep.  My greatest friendships and best memories were all made possible through opportunities presented by the Fraternity and I cannot imagine my college experience without it.  I have also learned several life skills that I will be able to take with me after graduation and use to better myself and my career.  I have not only learned about how to act and work within a group, but I have also learned a lot about myself.  That is also why I am so thankful for this scholarship.  Greek Life may become expensive at times, especially in addition to all of the other expenses that a typical college student has to manage.  This scholarship will help make it easier to remain in the Fraternity for the rest of my years here and ensure that I can stay active and take advantage of all the benefits that Phi Kappa Sigma has to offer.

Brian Schaeffer, Alpha Theta (Wisconsin) 2010

I am honored to receive a Foundation Scholarship.  Phi Kappa Sigma has meant a lot to me since I joined the organization two years ago.  The bond that I now share with my Brothers is unlike anything that I have with members of other groups.  I am confident that these men will be lifelong friends and our memories will carry on for decades.

At this point, I cannot even fathom what college would be like without our Chapter.  Being a Phi Kap is something I take great pride in.  I also take great pride in school, as well as the rest of my Brothers in Alpha Theta.  I am grateful for the donors of the Foundation because it is these scholarship contributions that help ease the financial burden that comes with attending college.  Keeping our Brothers in school is what helps the Chapter as well as the Fraternity, but not only that – the individuals themselves.
